Album Covers

Here are some album covers done for fun from a while ago. Random Wiki for the band Click. A random quote Click (last 4 or 5 words on the last quote on first page) and a random Flikr from the last 7 days Click (third picture no matter what it is). Then tie it all in with the font. It's fun.
I dont have the links to the pictures anymore but if I do more will show the picture origin.

Early Street Detail

Here is a detail section of my first InkDot picture. This was at an early stage. Before a lot of the extra cross hatching was done. The robot's leg isn't in the way so you can see the whole street.

After Colour

Here they are coloured and shaded. I did rush this a bit and did two of them whilst ill. Thing I may make them as good as the first one some day. Oh I added the claws on one of them as two of robots hands were too similar. For those eagle eyed among you.

Before Colour

Here is a picture to show the other three robots I did that went with the first one I did for VS. It was intended as a set of 4 so decided to finish them. I'll show you the finished picture some time soon.

Here is a random background I ended up not using for the E4 Sting I did. Thought I would blog it. I have also decided to go back to smaller pictures. It makes the whole thing less cumbersome I think. That is until I change my mind again.

Just Realised

What I Have Been Up To

Here is a little snippet of an image of what I have been up to for the last 3 months. I was lucky enough to be Directing a section for the Graham Chapman A Liar's Autobiography movie. Thing is it is the song section so it has to be quite a spectacle. So there are a lot of characters in there (all designed by Leah). This image shows just one of the characters doing a section of a dance move. You can see the amount of drawings needed. The project is in Stereoscope 3D so that was quite a challenge in itself.
I have literally lost count, or even an estimate of how many times I have listened to the song, probably coming on a thousand times (quite seriously) and now it has become a bit of white noise in the back of my head every day, but I still love it. The end result is quite brilliant and can't wait for people to see it.

Panel Painting

Here is another painting, this one is finished. And like the one before this is from a small comic panel. This one is from an early Excalibur comic drawn by Alan Davis, its from the vision of Widget. Thought it was so cool I wanted to make it bigger. It is roughly A3 in size. I didn't notice 2D's head was in the way in the bottom left corner when taking the photo.

Unfinished Painting

Here is a painting I haven't finished yet, its from a small panel of a Dare Devil comic (bonus points to who can say from where). Have to sort out the hair. Just blocked in colour at the moment. It is about A2 in size.

Thing is with google + it seems to know too much about you, like all the pictures you have ever uploaded to the web, including ones you have deleted. Not sure if I like that. But my blog folder was intresting, here it is. I cant figure out if that is all the pictures on this blog though?

The Mystery Film revealed

So I got the film developed, explained that this was partially exposed film brought off ebay. And this is what appeared. Kodak stopped making this film in 1974 so it was pritty old. There were three photos on the film and the pictures I took were over where the film was torn apart when I rolled it on. It's like it was melted, left a lovely image I thought. Any way here is the first one...

It's an old lady in a zimmer outside a building. Not a lot of info to see really. Well here is the other ones..

Totally seventies! The weird thing is she looks like my mum! I was so happy something came out. Any way the following ones are the ones I took, just made them all into one picture and the bottom right one is a close up of the top right one, I liked the peaks.

I have found it!!

So to thank Mr Bertram Fiddle for his explorer guide I decided to use it and find something lost. Well I found it and documented it and sent this to Mr Bertram. I can't seem to remember the details of how I got to this land but never mind! He will find it.
The Exhibit subject was Adventure, so as luck would have it, I got a 2fer!!

The Mystery Film

Using my birthday money I treated myself to a Libitel2 camera off ebay. There was a film in it. When I finished the roll and got it out I could see this. I thought the font looked really old so looked online and discovered that Kodak stopped making this film in 1974! How exciting! So I put it into the place I go with all my films to develop it. When I got there I realised I had forgotten to take a picture of it and didn't have my phone with me. So I asked if they would take a picture before developing it. Here is the picture, the lovely Jon from Photographique emailed it to me today. I will be picking it up tomorrow so hopefully there will be something on the film. I will let you know.

Noir [the Femme Fatale]

Been added to a weekly art group, I missed a few but this is this weeks entry.
The subject was Noir (femme fatale). I drew a robot (surprise) in my moleskin last night and stuck her on a photo of mine.

Working Out

Here are some sketches from a figuring out session with Mr Paul. He is directing the new tittles/ ident for the encounters film festival. I drew these thumb nails before doing some rough animation. The difficulty with this character is he has no detail and is completely black. So its all about the silhouette. Quite difficult making him dynamic.
